MAP
DMPool & Mirrors . . . . Author Smirftsch . . . . review by Flapjax
PROS
* pleasant deviation from preconceived expectations (novel)
* animated teleporters tie the map together
CONS
* difficulty acclimating one's self to the way of THIS world
* too many mirrors (i.e. insufficient direction(cues) for the user)
COMMENTS
Bewildering collection or surreal juxtaposed rooms.
This map will play with your
mind. Extensive use (perhaps over-use) of mirrors. I found the mirrored floor
quite nifty, however, the "hall of mirrors" left me begging for my death.
The water
feature (why does it kill you?) seemed the anchor of the map. It is lovely, and
is
accompanied by a gorgeous waterfall. It is possible to surmount the waterfall
and
provides rewards but the effort is considerable. I felt a lack of uniformity in
the
map and yet ... it was that disjointedness that brought a surreal cohesion to the
experience. Some of the stairways had an Escher feel and I was left to wonder why
I
climbed them ... no rewards and no place to go. If you are looking for a map
that
will play with your brain ... a world where you may well stumble over the Cheshire
Cat ... stop by! d:-)
