Personally i find this the prettiest looking UE1 game out there, it may not be as ambitious as Deus Ex, as lengthy as Rune, or border on UE2 visuals like Brother Bear, but the environment design and the atmosphere is really impressive!

Some necessary links for the game:

Patch 333b+D3D fix
For those who couldn't get WotEd to work (like me), i found a fix called wotedfix3.exe at
http://www.wheelgame.com/troubleshoot.asp
This fixed the editor for me, but it's still horribly buggy.

That's true. WoT has well-made medieval textures (e.g. stone bricks), proper lighting and detailed map design, aswell as great terrain in some levels. I'd say Wheel of Time and Undying are in the same department.

Deus Ex has the best story and gameplay, but the original game always lacked proper graphics. Wheel of Time, on the other hand, proved that even oldschool 256x256 textures can look great when done right.
