Here's the files needed to make unreal ed work. Put them all in your windows/system 32 folder. One file may not copy because it's in use but it's not needed anyway. These files were copied from the Rune cd btw. Make a back up and use at your own risk. I haven't heard of any problems with them but it doesn't hurt to be safe. I'm betting you could put them right in the Unreal system folder as well but I haven't tried that.

The Wiki has alot of info as well.
Or download the latest patch and the editor is updated to Ued 2 and working without the fix.

Re: Manual Editor Fix
Hi, I have Windows Vista 64 bit and I had a lot of trouble getting UnrealEd to work...
UnrealEd would halt with this message:
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Component 'THREED32.OCX' not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
When trying to install unrealfix4 it gave this error:
---------------------------
Unreal Editor Setup
---------------------------
An error occurred while registering the file 'C:\Windows\System32\threed32.ocx'
---------------------------
Abort Retry Ignore
---------------------------
BTW threed32.ocx = version 1.0.41.0, 1995, 203kb. (I think your version was smaller)
Then I tried this:
(windowskey + R) regsvr32 threed32.ocx
[Content]
The module "threed32.ocx" may not compatible with the version of Windows that you're running. Check if the module is compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe.
[OK]
I tried putting your files in windows/system32 but I didn't overwrite ones that had the same name. It didn't work, but putting your files in unreal/system worked well.

Any files that don't copy over should be ignored.

Re: Editor Fixes and tutorial links
This is such an old topic. XD
Well, threed32.ocx is an ancient library and it's not surprising that it's missing, it was missing on my windows system too, but it was on my Unreal CD in a subfolder from root, I think it was \SHARED or something, with a couple of ocx and dll files which I put into system32.

I've got the files installed in both the Unreal and System32 folders (but I didn't overwrite any files that were already in the folder), but whenever I try to run UnrealEd, a box saying "unexpected error" pops up and it doesn't load. I'm using Vista, if that helps.

Re: Editor Fixes and tutorial links
I'm gonna assume you haven't patched to 227 then. Gold is 226b btw. Download the manual files at the top of this thread. Put them in Unreal/system/ folder. I don't have vista so I can't verify it will work, however if you read the post from John Clay it seemed to work for him.

Yeah I have those files installed into the unreal and unreal/system directories, but I still get the "unexpected error" popup.I'm gonna assume you haven't patched to 227 then. Gold is 226b btw. This bug also appears when I try to use the version of UnrealEd that the 98 beta has attached to it and the one the UT beta has as well, even though those have the needed .dll files in the game's files.

Are there any fixes for UnrealEd that comes with Unreal Tournament? I keep getting editor.dll errors when I try to run it

Re: Editor Fixes and tutorial links
Have you patched UT to 451 ? 451 breaks the editor and is intended for server. For players and mappers, 436 is what you need.
You must construct additional pylons.

For a second there was a glimmer of hope... I have 436Have you patched UT to 451 ? 451 breaks the editor and is intended for server. For players and mappers, 436 is what you need.
I'm running Vista 64 bit and can't get UnrealEd to run, as soon as I click on the exe, I get this error....

At first I was getting an error that it couldn't find editor.dll, so after copying the installer from the CD and trying again, I get the above. Is there some way to get UnrealEd to run on this computer, it used to work just great back in the day when the game was new and the computers were typical of the day.
