Question about the ZoneName feature

Post by Neon_Knight »

Hi!

Krull0r's 227 map updating project inspired me to do some work with the official Deathmatch maps. I've started with two basic features, the levelshot and the zone names.

Speaking of which... the point of the thread: I remember that in the Tournament games (at least in UT99 and UT2004) zone names were used in team games to tell players where their teammates were. At least in regular Unreal TDM (Botmatch, haven't tried online) didn't saw such use. is there any part of the game where zone names (LocationStrings -> ZoneName) are used?

In fact, in 227I, these variables 'ZoneName' and the array 'LocationStrings' in the code are not used. But they can be used in a network game with third-party mods.
