It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

best mod ever :D i have waiting for an rpg-like style like this :o !!!! 

i hate that the menu doesnt work always but that is not only in your mod but in almost every cunstom menu (like the unreal gold 227F menu)

btw: maybe a really stupid question: is it possible to spend points? or is this not inplended yet? cant found anything about in in the readme or on the site.

hmm mye, menu's not working in what way? because not all of them are complete, been working on the classes mainly. And spending points not in readme? 0.o weird. Well ya, ofcourse it's possible, Try SpendPoint #
Also having a hard time getting my mouse pointer to work in the menus.. Would be much easier to navigate if it works.

thanks ;D is it not an better idea to spend points by pressing a butten + 1,2,3,4 or 5? (like shift and 1)?

i have found why the menu doesnt work: i had unreal gold console as menu, when i switch it back to unreal standard console everything works fine :).

I hate it when people ask me what my favorite game is. Just try to explain you're not talking about Unreal Tournament ::).

oh ya, and also thx for the idea of making a FAQ section on my site, it just came to my mind :)
And useing shift+1 etc. well... that idea is already taken, and this was supposed to be temporary until I have fixed my mouse pointer problems. there's going to be a menu to spend points and equip items and learn skills.

Unreallity BETA Version 4.2a is now available for download!

Try it now, a lot of new things are added. Check the Unreallity News on the homepage to find out what's new.

(The first time you play, throw away your weapon before you Load the default account, or reset the stats and make a new one.)

Trying out some new stuff here. Just finished the Unreallity Launcher, a small program that makes it easier to run Unreallity or play the Campaigns. Also allows you to join the server without a password, whoopdiedoodle.

OMG, just came up with an even better idea! I've changed some things in Unreallity so that you can now join the server / a singleplayer game automatically as your class and your account! WONDERFULLand it works! :D (I'm working hard now to finish up some last things in ULite so at least score can now be saved in an account on the server)

If it's your first time, the program will ask you to browse to your Unrela folder and select Unrela.exe. After that you can click MultiPlayer to join the server immediatly, or Single Player to go to another window that does show a part of my website (>.>) and allows you to select a Campaign.
Still need .NET Framework 4 tho :(

REALLY nice features though. First time I've ever seen an Unreal mod possess an MMO-style login prompt :o

just to show what a great guy I am (or maybe just because grammatical errors in professional websites bug the shiiiiit out of me), I took the liberty of editing your introduction section from your website. :)

I'm no expert, but I did my best.

PARAGRAPH ONE:

numbers are always lowercase. years shouldn't be capitalized. "has" is unnecessary in the first sentence. you say "Nali's" which is incorrect in two ways - one, you later refer to them as "Nali" which is conflicting how you reference them before. two, you don't need an apostrophe to make something plural. "now" is unnecessary. you say "stronger and more fierce". in a list, everything has to be consistent. it should be "stronger and fiercer". I dunno if you're british, but if not..."realize". ellipses have three dots. "up" is unnecessary. you said "power behind Nali powers"...which is redundant. say "secret" or something. and the biggest problem you have throughout, is your tense consistency. you can't say "would" and "will" together if you're talking about the same time frame. so the last sentence should read: "If the Skaarj reach Vandora's Tear, it will lead to their defeat, and the Nali race will fall into oblivion."

PARAGRAPH TWO:

again, tense consistency problems. and in the second sentence I was a bit confused...fleets don't have names like that. did you mean a ship? unnecessary comma in the last sentence...

PARAGRAPH THREE:

you can shorten up "coming to" by just saying "approaching". the second sentence was kind of weird...of course they aren't tourists. nightmares getting stronger kind of baffles me, should say "worse". think "to" yourself, not "by". "have" is unnecessary. aaaand the phrase is "even the odds".

and in the last part, queen shouldn't be capitalized. and, not really a grammatical problem, but...not all queens have kings. bees? lol.

if I had written it (in an attempt to be grammatically correct), it would go something like this:

Two years have passed since the human escaped. The Nali are starting to get their normal lives back, but the Skaarj have come back, stronger and fiercer than ever before. Some Nali now realize that this won't end with them being slaves again...it will lead to their death. They've formed up a group of warriors, trained to defend the ancient temple that holds the secret behind the Nali powers. If the Skaarj reach Vandora's Tear, it will lead to their defeat, and the Nali race will fall into oblivion.

At the same time, the humans picked up the trail of the Vortex Riker's emergency beacon. A small ship called "The Galaxis" received orders to find out where the emergency call was coming from. They tracked it down, and finally arrived at Na Pali, an unknown planet. The beacon came from a small escape pod circling in orbit. What they did not know is that there is more going on at Na Pali than they could ever imagine...

As you drift into space, you notice a large ship approaching the planet. You notice it is a Skaarj vessel, and you know they aren't tourists. The nightmares just keep getting worse. You think to yourself: "The Nali helped me escape, now it's time to even the odds."

Every queen needs a king, and this king is out for revenge...

AND THAT'S MY GOOD DEED FOR THE DAY!

3. Haven´t had English for like 3-4 years now, so I'm mostly resorting to "Can I google the word? yes? Than it's spelled right." It also depends on how much attention I pay to it, at least you can understand, hehe.
4. I can't even remember when I wrote that story XD But yeah thanks for the quick lesson :) The story is changing by the minute so I'm not really paying any attention to the details. Same goes for the ReadMe. Website also needs an update, it got screwed up so I had to start over again.

Well, I'm currently fully working on the mappack, the mod is a bit on hold again, except for a few new enemies.
Part 4 of the first episode is going to be a change. More info about that on the website,  although I can show you a preview of what the Droid will be like. The Droids are 'Tools' for the ship that can be 'driven' by technicians. There are several types of Droids, but now you'll be driving the Security Droid. supplied with a different HUD, 2 miniguns, and a grenade launcher, you'll have to travel across the hull of the ship using the Droid to get to a wall that must be blown apart before you can venture further. Lots of Skaarj and a Boss at the end will make this a thrilling ride.

I bumped. HUD looked boring imo, so changed it to this:



Still a lot to add/fix but.... Look at the red arrow in the middle. 10 arrows max, aiming at either HitLocation or the enemy. COOL right? :D

Also was thinking about adding some kind of pet system, you start of with a horsefly and it grows when you take/deal damage, move, heal etc. Also the way you play changes the way your pet growths. For example, you die alot, pet grows up to be a SkaarjTrooper with a shield. You heal a lot, pet becomes a cow that can heal you. Still gotta figure that out.

Arrow is cool, but it blends in with the blood or whatever, and it's kind of hard to see.

My vids are a bit dark, it should be visible enough when you play. They also shrink when you're further away from the source.
Also:

Works in 3rd person view! :D
And when you level up, you grow taller :O (Ofcourse not taller than the default human height, because that might cause collision problems similar to what the Skaarj have, not fitting in a tight room etc.)

Anyway, the idea came from this:

See that blue screen on his arm? I was planning to do the same thing in Unreal, a small screen showing ammo on the right that moves a bit when you turn around rapidly. This might be possible with scriptedtextures but I haven't worked with those alot so I gotta keep experimenting with this :)

lol, why does everyone use health bars and numbers to show how much health an enemy has? This way is much better:

Flashes up for a few milliseconds to show how much health it has. Also can be expanded to blood, cuts etc. :D

K, just to sum some things up:
So I just figured out that ScriptedTextures' DrawColoredText() depends on the texture's palette. So I could change the weapons HUD to something like this:

Slightly visible dark blue background with red/yellow/green text

Also improved the weapon's motion when you turn, now enemies can "slow" you so that it takes longer before your shots get aligned to the target. :P
Zooming is not instant now. Gun's kickback is also dynamic and decreases the more you zoom in. Sniper Rifle can zoom when you scroll up/down and the scope pops up when you zoom. :D

Oh, and a 5 minute vid (slightly outdated) showing some weapon action: [url= WotS - DEMO 15 [/url]

Further, The new radar and Scoreboard! The top right will show a radar with the yellow line representing your FOV (Field of View).
There will be Radar items that increase radar scanning radius and even some that will allow detection of hidden enemies that are in your line of sight, even through walls!
Also, the (still incomplete) Scoreboard holds a map that will also show some enemies, this one will also zoom out more, depending on your radar's scanning radius.
It will either only show players, or enemies that are NOT hidden. I haven't decided on that one yet.

These mini SMGs are perfect for stunlocking enemies. Just need (someone) to skin me these Vipers.

Yes, Unreallity is still alive!
As for map progress, I'm a little down on inspiration lately, but I will work on it later once I've thought some things out.

Oh, just a Mana indicator. Instead of your cliche health/mana bars your screen starts glowing red and your hand glows blue.
Map pack: still figuring out a proper storyline. It seems my website's down so I've gotta look up my old files again.
