It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Check out the descriptions, you better get some chips and coke since it is as good as watching a movie :D!

Ok now something else, MULTIPLE Z LEVEL LAYERS!
Still under construction, but as progress is going.. you can soon use them! The problem is not really the layers itself, that already works, the problem is the save file.. I have encountered some issues and I also have to rewrite all tiles and actors, so its a biggy, hold on tight ;)

Well then, it has been some time and I have been activly working on Dungeon Maker the past few days.
The version has moved from UDM2 to Unreal Dungeon Maker 3. Dungeon Maker 3 now supports layers for building into the air, or going into the ground to create very advanced and complex dungeons... or just dm maps with underground bases!
Anyways thanks to alot of help from gigyas, Head Rebel and everyone I probably forgot  :P I got a new exporter with a better algorithm!

The new exporter.. 1600 brushes are being exported in about 40 seconds ( in the past 10 minutes ) and imported into UnrealED in less then 6 seconds ( in the past 20-30 minutes)  :D

Dungeon Maker 3 is still under construction, but will soon be ready! I hope you enjoy the news so far, and I will keep you posted ( fine.. changelog too )

Version 3.1:
+ Fixed the map sharing page, found php errors in the downloaded files LOL.
+ Fixed the layers, UDM now supports 41 layers to build up and down!
+ Fixed a bug at exporting ( double begin map and level info ).
+ With help from gigyas, I made a new algorithm for map exporting, faster & smaller!
+ Made map exportation more strict, the slightest error makes the export fail, the end.
+ Added debughelp to the exporter ( custom tiles etc )
+ Changed every tile to be compatible with the new exporter.
+ Without Head Rebel it wouldn't be as it is right now.
+ Added layer functionality ingame!
+ Hacked the UMX filetype thanks to support from TheDarksider!
  This means Dungeon Maker can now play Unreal songs!
+ All tiles are now smooth ingame, no more lighting bugs.
+ You can select a song for your map ( but only with UnrealED limitations ).
+ Added an @ boot check to download missing dll files etc.
+ Added new commands for Z level at actors and brushes.
+ Fixed issues with clearing your map.
+ Added special layer options, merge with ceiling or every layer new floor.
+ Added more cleaning options such as clean map info ( song, layersettings etc ).
+ Created a new map saving algorithm, I can now add as much information as I want
  which stays backwards compatible, ud3 is probably the final savefile.
+ Made the upload map compatible with the ud3 format.
+ Created a new way to merge custom Z values with the layers ( in the tiles ).
+ Fixed the actor template placing, it now works on all layers.

Please note that all tiles are being rewritten so once UDM3 is out, UDM2 loses compatibility with them.

UnrealED Dungeon Maker 3 has been released!

I know it has been a very long time before I finally got this far, but I am glad I took it since this new version is brilliant compared to the old one!
The new ud3 savefile is fully changeable, so it doesn't matter anymore if I add more stuff its always backwards compatible, thats why this can probably be the final savefile!
I hope you all enjoy the new features and be sure to tell me if something goes wrong ( since alot has changed ).

Awesome news Henry, but after updating and trying to run, I get this error:

So here we go hm..
Ok it can be 2 things, 1 the download failed, ( so the update ) try restarting the updater manually but make sure you remove the current version information inside the settings folder, or 2:

redownload it from:

And it will work again for sure.

Nice  :D

Here's a suggestion... How about an "Inverse Curve" so players can make a nice rounded turn in the corridor?

and also a Semicircle Endcap for the smaller corridors would be awesome :3

Hm, I kind of stopped working on the dungeon maker to be honest, I have been working on different projects, which you can find here: [url]http://henry00.ftpaccess.cc/[/url].
I will however, add custom tiles to the dungeon maker if anyone has made them, same goes for actors or plugins.

Emulators, huh? I'd think you should work on something like an Xbox emulator, since there are already tons of NES emulators.
Actually, DXBX has been making great progress lately, with one more fully playable Xbox game added today. I think that means it can now run around 4 games without major issues.

ah the beauty of web based updaters ,
now you just need to distribute a update to update the updater so it points to the new updates.
except you cant cause the updater cant tell them it needs a update..

actaul 3 things .
1) henry can probably fix this if he uploads it to the exact same folder.
2)  the latest downloaded version i have on hand is 2.9 , with is not the latest.
3) I  have a copy of the v3 source code, but it not my business to compile you a public binary...

My server was infected by a virus and I replaced it completely (so hardware too) but without a proper backup.

1) True, that would indeed work with some small issues.
2) It was to be expected, Smirftsch never did upload a newer version in the download archive.
3) The Source Code I released once was pretty much the latest version I could find and I don't even have that anymore due to lots of computer formatting, if you could send me the source code somehow then I could compile it, fix the updater for old times sake. It should contain the files that I must upload to the server as well.

As for further development, well that's probably not going to happen, if you do feel like improving it I could keep uploading the latest version as there has been quite a large amount of fans and give you access to FTP, anything you need!

I can't believe it, but after all this time some mystery programmer comes up and sends me a fixed Unreal Dungeon Maker 3 version, I cleaned it up and rebuild the server's database, everything works again so have fun!

Least I can do.
VB is pretty arcane for me, so for me to do something more significant I need to port to C#.

Edit: The link you posted is old, and autoupdater does not download one of two required dlls.

Actually this is the best project that came out of it, the rest were small attempts but in the end UnrealED Dungeon Maker was the main feature.
I would rather see custom tiles being build for it instead, and perhaps more updates to the Source Code. :)

somone needs to add level splitting to split dungen into 4-8 quads ,
or cut + paste cell chunks ,
or mass select cells + delete .
so i can final make that gaint map work  ;D ::) :'(

while at it some sort of scripting system would be cool like how unreal does exec txt, so you could add single cells in scripts, that way one could randomly made desings and stuff
