Graphics Ok, but no sound

Post by zer0biwan »

Hi, I'm new here.
My install went without incident, but I've been trying to get sound working on a Linux install from Unreal Gold GOG + 227f Linux patch available on the site.
I'm running Arch with pipewire but neither FMODAudioDrv.FMODAudioDevice or ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem seem to work.
I have a working UT99 install on Linux with ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem.
I see people referring to patches such as "patch 227i or 227j" that don't exist in the Linux section.
Thanks for any help

Sorry, was very busy with RL lately.

The latest patch 227j is here: https://www.oldunreal.com/downloads/unr ... est-ver.j/
And it also contains the Linux version :)

No worries, thanks for chiming in. I just had to load the proper sound module ala "modprobe snd-pcm-oss".
All sorted and enjoying the trek through Na-Pali again.

Would you be able to elaborate on how you fixed this? I am having the exact same issue on Debian, using the lutris installer script - everything works flawlessly except there is no audio at all.

Cheers

Hi, I simply ran modprobe snd-pcm-oss on the command line and it loaded the snd-pcm-oss module. In order for it to load on every reboot I added the module to the modprobe file. Hope it helps.
