Well, I am late to this party, but wow. I just watched the video above and it is just amazing. Seriously, you are right on the money here. Hope things are going along well and thanks for even this much.

Hi there :)

I like to post a small update on my project.

I decided to rebuild the WHOLE ISV-Thor map :) I'm happy with the new results :)
Now the Indoor part looks more like then a spaceship.

Looks really good but that much mirror surface scares me performance wise. It's going to create some laggy pockets depending on which way you are facing.

I'ts all fine :) FPS are good .. for now :D

In the first case this map is for my singleplayer campaign. There will be not so many monsters and you have to play this map very sneaky.

Looks very nice, but this is screaming for more contrast, it's aaaaaaaaaaaall blue!

Its the Blue Deck :) Crewmen Rooms

There will be also red areas for the bridge / armory, green for the medlab / researchrooms and yellow for the engineering rooms.

And again I decided to rebuild the whole inside of the ship :D The old version was to small, so pawn couldn't pass some doors etc.

Those look great! I love the whole ISV styled spaceship theme! Plus there's some really nice use of lighting and trimmed textures there.  :)

I am quite familiar with the built-too-small-for-the-ai issue though, I often build my maps with human scale in mind as I find unreal to be sized extremely large. My spaceships are as compact as submarines and my cities/towns have even less spacing than Kowloon. The result is that even mantas or pupae fail to travel past my 96x48 sized doorways :D

I also decided to build this map and future maps in this small campain with less details.
Its still unreal. Even when I look at the original maps I must say that the simple design of those maps look still great.

Maps don't need to look stunning when the gameplay and the idea behind this is good.

@ Kajgue

This one looks really great! Nice texture. It must be a mess to texture such objects like this.

Great work!

I have a certain technique when it comes to skinning/texturing geometry with custom made textures. :P

Thanks alot guys. :)

Kinda working on this.

Bleh.

One question - does anyone know how to export from 3DS Max to Unreal that it doesn't screw up faces? I had to redo a few brushes because of that. (luckily all boxes)

Hi, Xan.

I do not know how to export/import models to/from 3dsmax, but I know that blender handles it perfectly if you export it as an .obj then import it through Ued as a static mesh, I wouldn't know how it's properly handle from 3ds max :(

Looks Great!!! I like your work on this project!
This door looks also awesome ;)

But maybe you should smooth those bright and sharp pixel edges on your door texture.

Hey Krullor,

Yeah, I could do that :) . But first I will do some other things before I get around to it.

And thanks for the feedback man :)

Geometry and lighting combine to bring about a brilliant design, Kajgue, and it's remarquable how distinctive it manages to be.
And that new door texture is great, very Skaarj-like!
Awesome work 8-)

My OpenGLDrv starts to getting somewhere. :) Though I need to check whether the detail/macro textures in Unreal do have mipmaps and if they have an average of 0.5 grey, at least that helped a lot in Deus Ex were the were awful off.

My first attempt at a 'Deathmatch' map so I'm not sure if this is going to be too constricting for more than 1v1... We'll see where it goes from here though.
